Northern Liberties
Farmers Market Branding
The Challenge
The Northern Liberties Farmers Market, previously managed by an external company, struggled to stand out in Philadelphia’s crowded farmers market scene. Its branding felt generic and lacked the energy needed to compete with the city’s most popular markets.
Our challenge was to reimagine the market as a true neighborhood destination—one that felt fun and playful for families while still being robust, and appealing to all ages, offering products from the best local vendors.
The market needed to highlight activities for children while also showcasing offerings for adults, such as fresh produce, prepared foods, and even local wine and spirits.
The Solution
As the lead graphic designer, I developed a refreshed visual identity that captured the spirit of community. My logo is a vibrant collage of our property, The Piazza, where the market is held, with a large peach peaking from behind. The new branding injected personality into the event, drawing in more visitors, especially families with younger kids. This fresh branding also made the market more attractive to small business vendors who joined the market. Playful yet polished, the design balanced whimsy with clarity.
