13th Poster Series

This poster series was inspired by 13th, the Netflix documentary exposing the deep injustices of the American prison system and the ongoing impact of systemic racism in modern society. The designs serve as a visual call to action—urging viewers to educate themselves and take part in the movement to end mass incarceration and police brutality, which disproportionately affect communities of color.

The creative challenge for this project was to communicate powerfully using only typography and a restricted color palette. I chose red as the single accent color to evoke the severity, urgency, and emotional weight of the subject matter against stark black and white compositions. The result is a bold, minimalist series that relies on contrast, hierarchy, and rhythm in type to deliver its message with impact and restraint.
